Settings

The Settings page edits global settings — the app-wide defaults for inflation rate, KiwiSaver amounts and rates, income tax rates, and NZ Super conditions. These defaults are used when a new scenario is created or duplicated; each scenario then has its own copy of these values. To view or edit a scenario’s copy (client settings), see Client settings.

Changes you make here apply to new scenarios and to scenarios that still use the default. They do not change values already saved in existing scenarios (each scenario stores its own copy).

Open the menu (top left) and choose Globals. The page shows cards for Inflation rate, KiwiSaver govt max amount, KiwiSaver govt rate, KiwiSaver govt income threshold, NZ Super base date, NZ Super Condition, and Income Tax Ceiling.

In the first card (titled Settings), click Edit in the card header. A form opens in a drawer with sections Inflation Rate, KiwiSaver, Income Tax, and NZ Super.

  • Single values (e.g. inflation rate): type in the field.
  • Table values (income tax, NZ Super): edit the values in the table cells. The NZ Super Condition column is read-only; only Annual Rate is editable. Income tax has Ceiling and Rate columns.

When you are done, click Save (bottom of the form). A notification confirms success or failure. Click Reset (bottom of the form) to undo your changes in the form and restore the previous values. Click Close (bottom of the form) to close without saving; your changes are not saved.

Keep KiwiSaver and NZ Super numbers up to date with the official figures.
